Past Activities for Troop 321

Troop 321 participates in a wide variety of activities throughout the year. Below is a sampling of what our troop has done and continues to do. Check out the Troop Calendar for scheduled current and future events.

Memorial Day Flag Activity - Paying tribute to our Veterans
The Boy Scouts participate in a rich tradition and pay tribute to the men and women who served our country by placing an American flag at each of the 140,000 graves at the Golden Gate National Cemetery. This is a worthwhile experience and our troop had a good turnout last year and it would be great if we could do so again.

Camping at Memorial Park
There's a humbling feeling when you're in the presence of redwoods. A gentle peace envelopes you like a fog that drifts in. This peace is found every day at Memorial Park. Its 499 acres provides an opportunity to view outstanding old-growth redwoods and has picnic facilities, a visitor center, a camp store, a creek swimming area, and campfire programs. The park is known for its family camping areas and the Tan Oak and Mt. Ellen Nature Trails.

Camping at Yosemite
Each campsite contains a fire ring, picnic table, and food locker [33"(D)x45"(W)x18"(H)], and is near a bathroom with potable water and flushing toilets.

Camping at Sunset Beach Park in Santa Cruz
The beach features pine trees, mountainous sand dunes, and ocean side picnic spots. Bordered by large agricultural fields west of the city of Watsonville, the beach is a year-round destination for thousands of visitors.

Kayaking in Monterey

Snow Camping Every Winter
The Troop offers the opportunity for Scouts to experience the thrill (and hard work) of snow camping in the Sierras. The kids love it and the adults are most dedicated to making this a successful trip in learning how to survive and have fun in the snow. For photos of this last year's trip, click here.

Camping at Henry Coe State Park
Coe Park is the largest state park in northern California, with over 87,000 acres of wild open spaces. The terrain of the park is rugged, varied, and beautiful, with lofty ridges and steep canyons. Once the home of Ohlone Indians, the park is now home to a fascinating variety of plants and animals, including the elusive mountain lion. Within Coe Park are the headwaters of Coyote Creek, long stretches of the Pacheco and Orestimba creeks, and a 23,300-acre wilderness area. The park is open year-round for hikers, mountain bikers, backpackers, equestrians, car campers, picnickers, photographers, and people who simply like to visit parks.

Camping at Rob Hill at the Presidio
Rob Hill Campground is the only overnight campsite within San Francisco. It is situated at the Presidio’s highest point in a stand of eucalyptus trees overlooking Baker Beach and the Pacific Ocean.
